Redbacks Win 5-3 in 1st game for D2Dsports League Div 3

Redbacks started their 1st league game in style as they smashed 5 past Monforto while they worryingly conceded 3 also. Scorers: Ayyub (2), Faiz, Kai and Ayat. For match report please click on this link: www.redbacks.wordpress.com

After the match, Redbacks enjoyed dinner @ Prata Place with Hisham joining us! What a lovely day with my fellow redbacks!

Due to the absence of Ryn as the official camera girl, Hazirah took over the responsibilities. Thank you so much for your help, Haz!

Cairnhill stopped losing streak by drawing with the top league team!

Ming, Faiz and me arrived late @ MJC for the match. In a match where Cairnhill played really well, they were more threatening than the opponents and if not for the lack of shots on goal, they could have topple the team that is currently first on the Espzen Division 9 league.

Missing the usual strikeforce of Gervais and Salem, Cairnhill turned to Clarence and Sathya to strike for goal in the 1st half while Ayyub was deployed upfront alone supported by Jage. However, with Jon, Syarul, Faiz and Ming conquering the midfield and creating chances, Cairnhill just failed to register enough shots on target to bother the opponent’s goalie.

The biggest miss was from Faiz in the 2nd half. Ming crossed the ball in from the left towards Ayyub who chose to dummy it for Faiz. With only the keeper to beat from close range, Faiz’s composure let him down as his chip shot went just over the bar.

Although Cairnhill failed to get back to winning ways, the positive news was the return of many players that were missed during the Hari Raya period. If they can continue performing as a team like yesterday, a win will not be too far away regardless of who they face.

Many thanks to my family, Baby, Cousins and those that wished me!

On the 18th, Baby got Ela, Faiz, Im and Ming to dine with me @ Lau Par Sat. The food was superb, especially the satay and the Sotong Char Kway.. What was better was the company of the whole lot of them being around to have dinner with me. Whenever we go out together, there’s bound to be food! I really love the company of all of them and i realised how close we have become as a family. I really hope that we will continue to stay close like this as the years come by..

On the 19th, which is on my birthday, i went to meet Baby in the morning. Baby actually baked a cake for me! I am still suprised that she went through the trouble to do it for me. The ‘hardness’ of the cake didnt matter to me, it’s the sweet thought of Baby that really touches me. On top of the cake, Baby got a little miniature of a ”little redback”. It looks so cute and now it is standing right on top of my desk at home.

We then took a little journey to City Hall and i got my very first ride in the Singapore Flyer! I have been bitching about it as Baby already took it with her family earlier. Haha… the whole experience was quite surreal… to be able to be so high up there viewing Singapore and even Batam and Sentosa! It is a memorable experience for me and i really wanna thank Baby for everything she did for me. She really set a benchmark for me next month as her birthday is next! After the ride, we had brunch at popeye and i really love the fish fillet burger. The iced tea suck though… As it begin to rain heavily at City Hall, my eagerly anticipated first league game for Redbacks was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch. That was the only upset for the day.

Later at night, Abang treated my family with Marg to a filling dinner @ Kampong Chai CHee Seafood down Changi Road. We had Chilli crab, Thai Garoupa, Sotong Char Kway (again! and i love it!) and cereal prawns. Thank you Abang for the treat… it was also for Mama’s birthday which happened to be on the 20th…

Somehow at this moment, i really treasure there moments spent with my loved ones: Papa and Mama, Abang and Marg, Ming and Haz, Baby dearest, Ela, Im and Faiz. It could have been better if the redbacks game wasnt cancelled and i would have got to play with my favourite teamates. But i am so so grateful for what i got and i thank God for giving me such a meaningful day that allowed me to enjoy it with people that matters to me. I love every single one of you and i hope that God will enlighthen me to be able to show all of them my gratitute in future.

The Cutiest Fan that came to watch Redbacks!

Redbacks back in 4-1 win for Season 08/09 (Friendly Game)

Great to see all of the Redbacks Brothers again!

Great to have Wandy to debut for Redbacks. Although having Wandy to play as Defensive Midfielder for the game, he really teamed up well with Azhar in the middle of the park. It’s really exciting for me personally to have Wandy playing with Redbacks as we certainly go back a long way. I believed we have played together as a very potent strikeforce that stroke fear in the hearts of defenders for more than 6 years when we played with Warriors. It wasnt just the successful partnership on the pitch, off the pitch i enjoyed the close friendship with him. I certainly hope Wandy will play with Redbacks this season, and those who knows him will hope so too. But as a friend, i truely respect his decision whatever it is. To play in any team, one has to be happy and i hope i can introduce the right team for you buddie!

Redbacks got their first goal through an own goal which the defender headed into his own goal through a Wandy cross. Hilmi took advantage of the opponent keeper’s blooper to make it 2-0. Soon, Jaz got his goal with a well executed lob shot. However, Ajiz’s failure to ‘PADDLE-BACK’ led to the opponent’s consolation goal. Ming added one more goal for Redbacks after Faiz’s shot rebound off the keeper and Ming was first to ram it home. There were smiles everywhere, showing that everyone was happy to play soccer together once again. Nordin made a very suprised return and he promised his commitment with Redbacks this season. I cheekily ask him to get Bai back to play for Redbacks.

I was deployed as Right Midfielder for the game and was subbed in the 2nd half. It was a suprise to me but i took the game as to condition my body for the league. Hopefully, i will be back as striker or attacking midfielder next week onwards. I am quite worried that i might be playing other positions instead. :P Anyway, i wore my new boots and find Copa Mundial to be poor while crossing and shoot. I need to adapt to it soon..

Faiz got a half of trying out as striker. I was impressed with how he opened up himself to make runs and his abillity to get to the ball ahead of the defenders. But he needs to take more shots whenever he can.

Ming played averagely in the first half as striker. He needs to be making runs even when he doesnt think that the ball isnt coming. He played better in the 2nd half with more conviction and his goal was a reward of not giving up the ball, being persistent.

I look forward to see : Abang Sani, Irwando, Mok, Raizal, Ayat, Taufiq, Azam for the league games. I realised that with more new players, Redbacks management will find it tougher to keep players happy due to the limited playing time. I believe that the management of Azam and the leadership of Azhar will do well to accomodate to everybody’s expectations. I hope to help any players that need help to communicate to the management for any issue. My sole purpose is to help Redbacks maintain this fantastic group of players: old and new. All of you are certainly making my sundays more colorful!

Thanks again to Baby for the wonderful pictures yet again!

I dont degrade and disrespect music that i dont listen to!

A post from my little brother:

”how you guys deal with people who disrepect the music you play and listen??

well just wondering how u guys face people who give really degrading comments to you like ( that is noise, its not music and then just say that main stream music is like the real music) hrmmmm… welll i know thats why they called it main stream. well my band plays post hardcore and metalcore i know it has lots of screaming so sometimes its quite irritating . i know how it feels like cause the first time isnt always nice. but this has been going on for quite a long time and sometimes i felt like moral down on playing music anymore.

it does really affect me to like listen to the genre that i like. sometimes its difficult for me to listen to my own music at home for practice purposes as i live in the same room as my brother! he is such a nag. keep saying that my music is rubbish and like have my cousins and family members to mock me down with my music.

even if its like paul gilbert music also they will say so metal rubbish. lol.. hrmmm.. so yea hit me with what will ya guys do if u have a brother everyday mocking yur music that u listen to and play .

thanks =)
i need to let this off my chest of i would just smash the guitar at his laptop.

All i want to said to him was why play songs that so many people dunno how to like it? Ming has passion for music and is extremely fortunate to have his own jam room, drum set, keyboard and at least 2 guitars to learn his music. Yes, he has a jam room. The purpose of the jam room is for him to play his music peacefully! I wonder why should he play hardcore music when he cant even play simple songs well enough? I do want him to be really good at music so that maybe someday he can make loads of money with it. It might be a dream come true! If he is unable to make the simpler pop songs or slow rock songs, i really dun think he should play hardcore songs that he will get lesser feedback from. Of course, it was just what my thoughts and i am not forcing him to change anything.

Well, i understand that some music is just not for me to understand and it’s not just hardcore rock, jazz for example is also one genre that i dun understand. But i dont have any disrespect for people who play those music. Why do i sing Peterpan songs like in K box? haha.. of course la, i cant sing well and i just wanna enjoy singing. I started play songs first then Ming also decided he wants to listen to his songs. So too bad, we share the room! Wait for Abang to get married then you can have your own privacy.

Despite not understanding ur genre of music, yet we came to watch you perform for a gig. Only to be ignored and treated like as we are your fans waiting like idiots for an hour while you kept attending to your band mates who de-valued you in the end. We came to support you and some came despite having no money to buy a ticket. I sort of ”forced” you into apologising to me, but have you even have the thought of apologising to the rest?

Despite my passion for soccer, i will never allow soccer to destroy my relationship with my family and loved ones. I will never tolerate hearing anyone saying a single bad thing about people i love. Even if my loved one is in the wrong, i will defend him/her and act as a support to help overcome their mistakes in life.

No worries, if i was 3 years younger, i might be angry and take this little affair way too emotionally. Hurt will be the right word to describe how i feel. I had hurt you so now its fair. There shall be no more feedback about your music from me, as long as you dont disturb my boundary. You will realise someday that all of these doesnt matter at all. What matters is you have people who care a lot about you and have your best interests at heart. That’s all that matters...

Selamat Hari Raya 2008!

First, i will like to wish all Muslims in the world and especially those who has been patronizing my blog a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir batin. May God bless all of you and your families and may everyone stay healthy and happy in days or months to come!

Raya 2008 was a pretty bitter sweet affair. It was really happy to meet everyone in the family for the occasion and see all the happy faces. The photo session is a yearly affair for our family and it never fails to bring out the excitement and joy from all family members. But silently, i also liked to wish my beloved Nenek and Bapak Selamat Hari Raya too. How i wished they could still be around. My love for Nenek especially never dies as long as i live, she never fails to make me happy and we always managed to get along so well despite her being able to converse in Boyan-Malay only. Bapak was responsible for introducing to me WWE and then, Hulk Hogan. He would occasionally ask me to buy Lucky Strike cigarettes when i was as young as 5 yrs old and i was told by many that Bapak doesnt talk to even his children yet he always like to talk to me about the Hulkster and soccer. I feel really blessed in a way that i could be the one that bring smiles to their faces while they were still around. I need to go visit them soon. I really miss them so much.

On the way home, i realised that i lost both my green packets from my mom and Abang. To my horror, it was a total of 150 bucks. I was intending to use it to buy new boots for the new season. I guess that is a bit hard now. I am still feeling gutted for the lost, as i didnt even got to open the green packets yet. I only know the amount of money when Ming told me what Mom and Abang gave him. I guess that money isnt meant to be mine, God willing if i am ever going to get new boots now.

I have an exam paper tomorrow at 10am, was busy studying the whole day about Public Relations. I haven been meeting Baby since last week! I miss her so much and i know she is dying inside to tell me that yet she knows i need to study and she needs to be patient. I am planning to meet her tomorrow and then going out with her famiy for Raya on Sunday. Alright then, gotta continue my revision.

See you people!

:)
